Syrian Sovereign Fund Explores Partnerships with Chinese Companies to Accelerate Economic Development and Reconstruction
The Syrian Sovereign Fund (SSF) participated in the Syrian-Chinese Economic Development Forum, held in Damascus on November 3–4, 2026, as part of its efforts to establish investment partnerships that contribute to accelerating economic development and supporting reconstruction efforts across Syria. The forum brought together an economic delegation representing 16 Chinese companies specializing in construction, engineering, building materials, equipment, industry, investment, marketing, and reconstruction.
The Fund's participation included working sessions focused on investment opportunities and the associated legal, financial, and regulatory requirements, alongside bilateral meetings aimed at developing practical partnerships with Chinese companies and exploring areas of cooperation that could lead to viable projects.
Mohammad Mastat, Public Relations Director at the Syrian Sovereign Fund, stated: "The Fund's participation in the Syrian-Chinese Forum reflects the efforts of its companies to identify strategic partnerships that can help accelerate economic development in Syria."
He added: "The companies affiliated with the Syrian Sovereign Fund are among the active participants in Syria's reconstruction and development efforts. We seek to establish distinguished partnerships with leading international companies to accelerate this process."
The forum focused on advancing Syrian-Chinese economic relations beyond traditional trade toward investment and productive partnerships, particularly in industry, infrastructure, energy, housing, and technology, while leveraging the industrial and technical expertise of Chinese companies.
Through its participation, the Syrian Sovereign Fund aims to expand communication channels with international investors and explore cooperation opportunities that can help revitalize economic sectors and transform available assets and investment opportunities into productive projects with tangible economic impact.
